Steve Noviello is a 5 time Emmy Award winning journalist who you'll find fighting for consumer rights on FOX4 News in Dallas, TX.
Whether it's his hidden camera shopping investigations, money saving tips, product tests or his no nonsense financial advice, viewers have been turning to Steve's expertise for more than a decade.
Through social media and hyper-interactivity Steve has successfully branded three franchise staples for FOX: "Deal or Dud?" product tests, "Save Me Steve" consumer news and "On Your Side" consumer investigations.
Steve's work can be seen on FOX stations across the country. He is a regular live contributor to his home market in Dallas, and also to FOX stations in Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, Atlanta, Washington DC, Houston, Detroit, Phoenix, Minneapolis, Orlando, Kansas City, Birmingham, Austin and Greensboro.
In addition to his job as a TV news reporter and regular fill-in anchor, Steve is also a college professor who teaches aspiring journalists the fundamentals of superior story telling.
REPORTER'S NOTEBOOK
Financial figures, new rules and regulations can all get very confusing and very boring.
This is a collection of memorable moments from my no nonsense financial advice segment- "That's my two cents... spend it wisely."
Host of my annual Holiday Gift Guide special, or street reporter asking the tough questions.
See how vastly different assignments show there's more than one side to Steve.
You have to do your homework before you call me to do a story!
That's the lesson this not-so-savvy salesman learned when he contacted me to take a look at his gas-saving gadget.
Be sure so stick around for the exchange at the end.
A great TV moment!
One of the greatest pieces of advice I have received during my career is simply, "If you want a real story, talk to a real person."
This story is one of my favorites. It's a great example of finding excellent characters who turn a boring story about a product launch, into a memorable experience for viewers.
I was asked to speak at a conference recently about how to better communicate with your photographer to tell better stories. From lighting, to camera selection, to the car we had to drive to "get that shot", the above pieces required precise planning before we ever left the station.

Tens of thousands of people say they are believers- but watch what happens when we sit down with the company president and ask "where's this cash coming from?".
The key to success is allowing the viewer to become a part of the process. In today's multi-platform media environment, social media interactivity is essential.
Steve has thousands of online fans, friends and followers and is committed to providing them with added-value content each day.
Not only does social media allow Steve to share news, recall notices and money saving deals with his viewers, it's also a great resource from which to harvest story ideas and product testers.
Through the regular, deliberate and creative use of social media, Steve positions himself as more than a face on the local news- he is a trusted friend and advisor who shares news plus exclusive access to a "behind the scenes" experience not available on broadcast TV.
Especially in instances of breaking news, a strong social media following is like having an army of citizen journalists ready to snap pictures and help create content.
